<p style=" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px; -qt-user-state:0;">Für die OSM-Karten wird die Welt dann dadurch quadratisch gemacht, dass man einen maximalen nördlichen und spiegelbildlich dazu einen größten südlichen Breitengrad gerade so definiert, daß die dadurch beschnittene Welt quadratisch wird. Ergo wird man auch die Umgebung der Pole auf keiner OSM-Karte finden -- falls auch dort der eine oder andere Mapper unterwegs sein sollte ;-) </p>

<p style=" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px; -qt-user-state:0;">Das beantwortet meine Frage eigentlich nicht: Wenn JOSM und die Karte genau dieselbe Projektion verwenden, dann kann man auf dem Bildschirm eine beliebige geometrische Figur zeichnen und sieht auf der Karte bis auf einen Skalenfaktor genau dieselbe geometrische Figur -- ohne jede Verzerrung.  Denn bei der Umrechnung der Bildschirmkoordinaten in WGS-84 Koordinaten verwendet man dann genau die Umkehrfunktion der Abbildung von WGS-84 auf die Karte. Das Ergebnis ist die Identität. Wenn man dann mit einer quadratisch zugeschnittenen Welt arbeitet, erzeugt auch der Zoom keine Verzerrung.</p>
