[oxoncotswolds] Oxford SotM?

A couple of us were wondering out loud the other week whether Oxford
would be a good candidate for a future State Of The Map.
It's got lots going for it: easy to reach internationally and
nationally, lots of OSM activity, an interesting city for people to
visit, no shortage of venues. We haven't had a UK SotM since the first
one (Manchester), and the UK is still OSM's second most active country
and provides the lingua franca of the project. So it wouldn't be
unfitting to propose one in the next couple of years.
I am the single worst person in the world ever at organising this sort
of thing so I'm certainly not proposing to be pivotal in any bid
myself... though I would of course be happy to help. But I thought it
was worth throwing the idea out there.
We did consider a Charlbury SotM but I'm not sure there's enough space
in the back room of the Rose & Crown. ;)
cheers
Richard
