Dear Mr Monk<br><br>Thank you for your reply, it will take us a couple of weeks to complete the map. You can of course follow the progress at <font size="3" face="Times New Roman"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><a href="http://mappa-mercia.org/gritting-map.shtml" target="_blank">http://mappa-mercia.org/gritting-map.shtml</a> and we would be delighted to have a link on your website once it's completed.</span></font><br>

have seen the gritting routes are in our Winter plan attached to the Solihull
website. There are 9 routes and these are all treated on a regular basis during
cold weather. These routes are made up of roads considered priority A and B. In
times of extreme weather and with sufficient stocks of gritting salt we will
also grit Priority C roads on request. When salt stocks start to run low (as
they have this year) we stop gritting priority C roads and concentrate on
preserving salt to ensure that the main routes can be kept clear. Should salt
stocks run even lower with no sign of resupply then we would cut back to
primarily A and B roads as happened in February 2009. We haven't published those
routes as we have not had to take that measure yet this year and hopefully we
won't have to.</span></font></div>

any level of priority ( categorised as A B and C on your web page <a href="http://www.solihull.gov.uk/transport/gritting.htm" target="_blank">http://www.solihull.gov.uk/transport/gritting.htm</a>)
