The A11 Fiveways roundabout to Thetford road scheme got a final go-ahead a few days ago.<br><a href="http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Home/Go-ahead-for-long-awaited-road-scheme.htm">http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Home/Go-ahead-for-long-awaited-road-scheme.htm</a><br>
<br>This morning I have been seeing if I could model it in OSM completely so that some clever software could offer to render or route on the present alignment or the one being proposed/constructed. To achieve this I have grafted the new roads into the current network and used 'proposed:<any>' tags to describe the changes.<br>
<br>For completely new sections of road I used the conventional 'highway=proposed and proposed=trunk' tagging; I then simply added 'proposed:oneway=yes, proposed:lanes=2 and proposed:ref=A11'.<br><a href="http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/105574348">http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/105574348</a><br>
<br>For a B road that is going to become a bridge I have added 'proposed:bridge=yes and proposed:layer=1'.<br><a href="http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/105575210">http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/105575210</a><br>
