WMTS, or more specifically if it is/can be made compatible

Depending on what WMTS server Rob has used, it may be possible
to get an OSM/google tiles compatible URL from it (WMTS is
overall fairly niche and a full implementation of it quite some
work that would have to be sponsored for it to be considered).

The good news is that for exactly the same reasons as JOSM the
next larger release of Vespucci has MVT support (including
minimal Mapbox Gl styling). The beta is still a couple of weeks
away because I need to do some unrelated work on supporting the
transition to Android 11, but if you want to give it a spin I
can make a test build available.

me wondering if we have a list of UK relevant tile servers

thinking tiles that help with editing but I guess it could
include other UK specific 'maps'.
That's great! Thank you. (NSUL postcode
overlay.)
I appreciate that the font size is a compromise
between collisions and readability. But I am
finding some of the postcodes difficult to read,
especially when they are not overlaid on a plain
background. I am wondering whether a slightly
larger font size might work better.

I am hoping that Chris Hill follows this list
and that he will continue his overlay of
postcode centroids. This overlay has fewer
collisions because it contains fewer points, and
it can be useful in cases where the NSUL overlay
has a collision.
