<div dir="auto">I’ve had a couple of conversations with the Ramblers about “Don’t Lose Your Way” (alongside Nick Whitelegg) and they are definitely keen to ensure the data can be used in OSM and very happy to be guided on that. <br />

It’s been a long time since I had contact with them, so I’ll add a note to my to do list to get in touch and see how they are getting on and I’ll endeavour to update this thread when I have done so.</div>

<div dir="auto">The aim is for no longer acknowledged footpaths to be re-recognised. The government has given until 2026 (I think), as a cut off. Great tools like OSM would build on the detail. </div>

But if they want to map such details as "include useful details such as<br />
a path’s surfacing, condition, waymarking and any obstacles" they can do<br />
that on OSM, no special tool or membership is needed. And why restrict<br />
it to Scotland?<br />
