Interesting proposal but just misses the mark. I only have Amazon lockers as real-world examples that I'm familiar with, though there are other providers, but even restricted to them alone I have opposed it for two reasons. Nomenclature (no-one calls them vending machines—they're lockers—but I'm prepared to concede this point) and lack of mandated name tag because Amazon, if not others, always have a name for their lockers.

In the meantime, the suggested iD defaults for "Amazon Hub Locker" will do for now. If the proposal passes it should be a simple matter of bringing iD into line and subsequently suggesting tag changes when there are edits in the area of a locker. picking up and returning parcels. Common brands in the UK include
Amazon, InPost and Hermes.
The proposed tag is amenity=parcel_machine, which isn't a term I've
ever heard used in the UK, and I don't think is particularly
descriptive for these objects. It's not entirely clear to me from the
discussion why there was a late change from the originally proposed
amenity=parcel_locker(s).
I think it would be good to get some wider input into the discussion/voting.
