<div class="moz-cite-prefix">iD's "RV" is an Americanism that's not
widely used in British English. That matters because they're not
really into touring caravans (or "travel trailers") like the UK
is. Those that do exist can and do use RV parks and campgrounds.
BTW it's actually "recreational vehicle" and <a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recreational_vehicle">Wikipedia</a>
says that RV includes towed types. So saying "RV site"=="caravan
site" is probably true enough, but the various attribute tags for
unit types are quite important.<br>

<div class="moz-cite-prefix">I can't think of a site that takes
touring caravans but not motorhomes, but the reverse is often
true because of the approach roads and licensing restriction. I
even know of a couple of sites that only take campervans/small
motorhomes as well as tents, because access is too tight for towed
caravans or big motorhomes. I suspect that's too much detail for
OSM (but not for me - I have a Transit campervan). <br>

<div class="moz-cite-prefix">I wouldn't call a (standalone) caravan
storage facility a "caravan park" despite the obvious parallels
with "car park", because "caravan park" already means something
like a campsite. Something like "landuse=storage" (<a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/landuse%3Dstorage">proposed</a>)
+ "storage=caravans" would seem more appropriate. The <a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:tourism%3Dcaravan_site">OSM
wiki for "tourism=caravan site"</a> says something similar,
though hints that "amenity=parking" would be appropriate for
storage. I have my doubts on that but can see the logic.</div>

The Wiki says caravans=yes/no applies to being allowed to live in
the caravan on-site overnight or longer.

There are caravan parks which are actually over-winter secure
storage sites for caravans, such as this one:

<br>
<br>
On the iD editor tourism=caravan_site is actually labelled *RV
Park* which I think means self-powered Residential Vehicles
(mobile homes), which may not allow 2-wheel trailer caravans.
