One answer for that would be to only have ref and to omit name as tagging for the renderer.</div>

<div dir="auto">I'm not sure if you're aware but osmand can already render ref (at least the default public transport style does). If there's only a ref, that renders, e.g. '1'. If there's a name and ref both render, e.g. '1 (1)'. If there's a ref for the platform
and a name for the stop area they render, e.g. 'Shipley (1)'. If there's a name for both stop area and platform only the name of the platform renders (and ref), e.g. '1 (1)' in Paddington.

<div dir="auto">I appreciate wanting to get platform numbers rendering on carto (and others) but it doesn't seem great to mess up the rendering on osmand -- even if you don't like their style they've obviously thought about it. We could ask osmand to deduplicate
ref and name (which would probably be a good idea in other areas too) but that's asking them to do the legwork to compensate for others.</div>

<div dir="auto">More generally I agree with reducing what is stored to remove station name and 'Platform'.</div>
