<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">As a new way of making improvements to OSM, TomTom is planning to conduct edits based on user feedback submitted for the TomTom map that is also valid for OSM.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">We will only perform edits if they add value to OSM, do not conflict with any recent updates made by the community, and are supported by a local source. In the absence of credible source material, we will look for local
guidance.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">We will start by implementing feedback about the following types of features:
<b>highways, addresses, POIs, land use, buildings and water</b>. For further details about the types of edits we will make, you can take a look at our
<a href="https://github.com/tomtom-international/open-data/issues/6">GitHub page</a> for the UK (> section ‘Edits based on map feedback’). Over time, we will expand to other features.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">Along with the #tomtom hashtag that accompanies every TomTom edit in OSM, changesets based on map feedback will receive the hashtag
<b>#tt_mapfeedback</b>. This will allow you to track the updates we’re making during this activity.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-US">In the UK, we plan to start with a small number of edits based on map feedback in two weeks, and then continue with incidental edits spread over time.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
