The unique PAHO identifier should make it possible to link the two
models.<br>

Another element of information is that, according to the announcement, <br>

interface showing all known healthcare facilities in Haiti, using the
Haiti Health Facilities Master List as a basis. The “Resource Locator”
and “Reports” pages are low bandwidth resources while </font><font
size="2">the map (under tab “Travax 3D”) version requires significant
bandwidth, graphics capabilities, and requires the use of Java®."</font><br>

(I reported earlier to Shoreland that Travax 3D doesn't start on my
Linux system, even though I have an up to date java version.)<br>

I think OpenStreetMap could offer an additional solution to the mapping
need, with potentially lower bandwidth and resources requirements.<br>
<br>

I've been in touch with the people at TRAVAX and we have to distinguish
between their master data set and the master data set maintained by
PAHO <br>
(the list we've been importing so far). TRAVAX won't replace the PAHO
list, they "emphatically don't want to do so", as Bill from Shoreland
put it. The TRAVAX and the PAHO model isn't fully compatible yet (some
minor issues, missing PCODE for instance, differnt hospital type
classification). As far as OSM is concerned, we should best stick with
the PAHO list for a couple of versions. I'll continue to work on this. <br>

Personally, I don't see value in copying real time information about
bed availability into OSM. I'm not going to be involved in it.<br>
