Hi Deepthi Patric,

As far as i know, elevation contours can be extracted from openly
available data sets from ASTER / SRTM / ALOS satellite imagery
services. Each one has different spatial resolution and elevation
accuracy depending upon the measurement (remote sensing)
technology.

Do take a look at :
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relief_maps

Geomorphometry and hydrological analysis depend upon the Digital
Elevation Models derived from such preprocessed data sets.

How does the elevation map work ? Does it work by
extracting contours from SRTM ? Or does it use
point-sampling tool ?
