And, this morning he replied as follows:</div><div>- He fully acknowledges Robert Helvie's note and Kyu-sung Choi's reminder as well. </div><div>- He said to take advantage of Vworld imagery and the associated map services only to justify the street names.</div><div>- He committed not to use any longer questionable sources based on public survey results but to take advantage of imagery that comes with OSM.</div><div>- He appreciated the reminder of the concerns.</div><div>- He wished OSM community's development even in the future...<br><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">I evaluate that Mr. Hwang appreciates Robert's concern with sincerity. The concern I have is that it LOOKS LIKE he is pulling the imagery from this site: <a href="http://map.vworld.kr/map/wcmaps.do#" target="_blank">http://map.vworld.kr/<wbr>map/wcmaps.do#</a> (pretty ingenious, actually). The imagery is much better than Mapbox or Bing, but it may not legally be usable with OSM.</div><div><br></div><div>Of course my Korean is not good enough to find the supplier for the imagery on that website, but I expect the license may not actually be compatible for use with OSM. "export" of government-driven map is a crime in Korea. Any data from<br>
this site should be avoided in OSM.<br>
