<div dir="ltr"><div>Hi Rodrigo,</div>Actually, both tags should still be kept. "highway=bus_stop" is an old tag now but it was in use for a long time so when shifting to new tags it is best to double tag still. Especially since allot of renderers still only render the "highway=bus_stop" tag. So it is still useful to include the old tag when tagging new, and definitely don't delete it from older ones. Maybe in the future when everything is brought in line with public_transport someone will make a bot to clean the old tags.<div>
<br></div><div>The main discussion in the thread has been that "<span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">public_transport=stop_</span><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">position" should be tagged on a node on the highway (not unconnected next to it).</span></div>
<div><font face="arial, sans-serif">And that we should be including the "bus=yes" tag on bus features.</font></div><div><font face="arial, sans-serif"><br></font></div><div><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif">A+</span><br>

<div dir="ltr">Yes, on the first example it gives to nodes and it adds highway=bus_stop to the node on the way.<div>Example one on the way:</div><div><a href="http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/984783569" target="_blank">http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/984783569</a></div>

Especially since this is how the creator of the public_transport envisioned including it.</div>
<div><br></div><div>highway=bus_stop is not that critical of a tag itself, because it has been replaced by the public_transport tags. But it is still useful as it renders on the map and including it allows older software which hasn't been updated to new tags to use it, as well.<br>

</div>What about highway=bus_stop? Should we use this tag for the node on<br>
the road or where the passengers wait? The wiki is not clear about<br>
this.<br>
<br>
Here the use of the tag for the place where passengers wait is<br>
recommended: [<a href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:public_transport%3Dstop_area" target="_blank">http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:public_transport%3Dstop_area</a>]<br>
<br>
And at the examples section of<br>
[<a href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Public_Transport" target="_blank">http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Public_Transport</a>]<br>
you see that it's used on the road (by noting the blue "icon" on the<br>
map).<br>
