<tt>Thanks, Eugene.<br>
I updated some tags so that Mabalacat are Magalang are more similar
(and at the same time completing more information of course), as there
were a few differences. I'll see in a few days if that change did any
good. If not, I'll file a bug.<br>

discussed often at the main talk mailing list. As far as I know,
there's no agreed upon solution yet for tagging for "importance"
especially for settlements.<br>

On the other hand, Mapnik renders both labels fine so it must be a
rendering issue and there shouldn't be any tweaking of the tags just to
force those labels to appear. You might want to file a trac bug for
this; T@H/Osmarender shouldn't be too choosy with name clashes; it
clashes street names anyway at higher zoom levels.<br>

just a bit puzzled,<br>
how come, when Magalang and Arayat appears fine here:<br>

If you zoom out, both Magalang and Arayat disappears, despite there is<br>
more than enough space for the names on the map. However<br>
I even tried moving the name Magalang a bit further out to make sure it<br>
does not crash with Mabalacat or Clark Special Economic Zone. I don't<br>
understand why Mexico and Mabalacat stays while Magalang and Arayat does<br>
not? Funnily, using Mapnik instead of Osmarender yields completely<br>
different results.<br>
<br>
How does Osmarender (and Mapnik for that matter) calculate which names<br>
to show and which to hide? I can't find any logic in this, and am at a<br>
loss trying to rectify it.<br>
Secondly, is there anything I can do to tell the rendering engine which<br>
names have the same importance (or level)?<br>
