barangay in Los Baños, Laguna. Some drivers and travelers use OpenStreetMap data as a reference tool.<br><br>3. Maybe we haven't reached out to other mappers who need to refine their edits a little bit more (especially the tagging). Maybe they reside in an area without high-res imagery. Or maybe we have some of the same problems that Wikipedia has or used to have (For example, inaccurate data. Though other online maps have inaccurate data, I believe that we are being singled out since we aren't that "established" compared to Mapmaker and WIkimapia)<br></div><div id="yiv187173070yui_3_2_0_16_1315225772173694"><br></div><div

simultaneously promoting it through old and new media. We can also conduct 3-4 mapping parties (to improve OpenStreetMap's coverage in a certain area), at least 2-3 skillshares and/or meetups and a couple of meetings/talks/lectures per year. Who knows, we *might* host The State of the Map or the Asian version of it!<br><br>5. Other concerns<br><br></div><div id="yiv187173070yui_3_2_0_16_131522577217351">Maybe I should send them an email that their edits need refinement (Example: "You may try to tag [Name of a residential area] as place=locality or landuse=residential instead of place=village since the place=village tag is used for barangays" or "You don't have to add "name=Rice field" on a rice field and tag it as a meadow. Tag it as landuse=farm and crops=rice" or "town halls/municipios should be tagged as amenity=townhall and not place=village and name=[Name of town] Town Hall) instead of editing them directly. I think that I should give the less

presenting.<br><br>The primary source materials of my talk is the wiki [0,1,2] and of<br>course, this list [3]. For sure the OSM-PH data has grown tremendously<br>in the the past 2 years. There a number of factors that may have<br>contributed to this growth. I would like to focus the presentation on<br>on 4 main points. Perhaps you can help me develop the discussion.<br><br>1. The osm-ph community. Who is the "community"? What characterize a<br>PH OSMer? How do we map? What are the innovative ways we do to<br>improve the map? Are the data users part of this community? Is the<br>talk-ph list and discussions here a representative sample of the osm-ph<br>community?<br><br>2. How do we use the data? Some sample of data useage we can<br>illustrate.
