    I have started the job that removes the unnecessary TIGER node tags<br>
(and removes the nodes themselves should no tags remain and the nodes be<br>
unused - this applies only to a small number of nodes).<br>

As discussed here, we'll remove "tiger_tlid", "tiger:upload_uuid" (and<br>
the misspelled variant "tiger:upload_uid"), "tiger:county", and<br>
"tiger:source". We will also remove "source" but only if one of the<br>
other tags is present AND the content of "source" refers to TIGER.<br>

You can see which area is currently being processed, and what has<br>

The job will generally work in county-sized chunks, but don't expect<br>
that once it has visited a county it's done with it - many counties will<br>
have to be visited multiple times because they have so many nodes. Also,<br>
it can always happen that some edits fail during the first run, and<br>
these left-over nodes will then be picked up later.<br>
<br>
The job does not proceed evenly but instead jumps randomly across the<br>
US, doing one county here then one county there. This is because I want<br>
to avoid that someone who e.g. regularly processes all changes in<br>
California suddenly has millions of changes in a few days - I'd rather<br>
spread things out a bit to soften the impact for everyone.<br>
<br>
I'll closely monitor the job but if any of you should notice something<br>
strange, please do tell me.<br>
<br>
Initial results are a bit disappointing speed-wise, I am currently not<br>
sure if we'll make the November target but we'll see.<br>

I'll keep you posted on major developments, milestones, etc.<br>
