The OSM node could even link to a wiki page where the neighborhood can be described in all its richness and complexity.</blockquote></div><br><br>you could do this with wikipedia links. My usecase would be to enter an address in a search field and get information about the neighbourhoods the results are located in. Given the huge differences in shape and extension of place areas I'd rather prefer an unprecise and to some extend subjective polygon than a node that doesn't convey the necessary information to get an idea where it is valid for (especially in a setting like osm, where you always have missing information bits).</div>
