<div>Personally, I tag "big box" stores like Target, KMart, WalMart etc with shop=department_store, just because that seems like the closest fit that isn't too restrictive (they're much more than a supermarket, to my mind).<br />

A department_store has lots of stuff and lots of salesclerks serving you.<br />

Also a supermarket will have a huge parking in front of it, while a department store will be found in the city center and will have an underground or parking deck.<br />
