If you rely on public land boundaries in OSM you are relying on someone keeping this data up to date in OSM as well. With a data layer that could get you in actual trouble if it’s outdated or otherwise inaccurate, that is a real issue.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Engaging in quite a bit of backcountry fun myself I understand and appreciate your use case. I tend to rely on official maps for public lands and use an outdoor specific mapping app to get my intel in the field.
