Hi all

Just wanted to get out a response to some of the MapQuest questions from the other day. If i missed any, or you have more, just let me know.

Scalebar bugs: yes, scale bar is broken. It doesn't change on scroll wheel zoom. Scale itself is also inaccurate, as it was originally written for the MapQuest projection and zoom levels, and we haven't adjusted it to the ohm zooms and projection yet, but we will.

Missing cycle / footpaths: we didn't have an existing map quest style for them. They will be in a future update, we are making the styles.

Data freshness: i can't tell you exactly when we last pulled the osm data, but sometime in Mid June I think. Automated data updates didn't make it in time for the conference, and is one of our top 3 things to get done as soon as we get back to the office (no, we're still not back yet)

Why UK, and not anywhere else, even tho the site seems to work for (mostly!) everywhere: We want to localize the language of all the buttons, headers, text, etc. We also started using just UK data and as we Made progress, scaled up the amount of data we were working with. This was especially important with routing.

Contacts: for tech feedback, email open at MapQuest.com. For grant or business feedback, email osm at MapQuest.com

HTH and thanks for the overwhelming reception, the great feedback, and the fun times at SOTM 10! Let me know if i missed anything.
