"Personally, I don't see why the relatively little used forum should be
"spammed" at the top of EVERY list email." You answered your own question. Because it has relatively little usage. (In part because it is relatively new). Giving people signs is completely different to advertisement or propaganda; informative is the word. In reality, I don't see protests against street signs for example.

I am now aware that people are referring to 'every list email' different to me, as i receive the links at the top of the hotmail account, and i can see why having the link at the top of every message would not be a good idea, and I totally agree that this would be irritating. ""evil reply to munging" Don't have a clue what that means I'm afraid. But I'm not that evil....mostly.

I'm not shore why people think that the forum should be aimed at less experienced users. As far as I know, there isn't some cut off point in the forum where you are instantly banned once your knowledge reaches a certain level. Its practicality for beginners does have its advantages though I suppose.

"Ben Robbins seems to think we do. I don't". It's not really a matter of what you or I like. I don't particularly like this means of communication but I still think it should be here for the people who do like this means of communication. Offering the different choices, rather than pre deciding these choices is the better way to go I think.

The lack of integration would be solved by providing short cuts between the forum and mailing list achieves shorely? It is unsurprising that nearly every one reading this (in the mailing list) is pro mailing lists. This doesn’t mean there needs to be an anti-forum feel here. Appreciate things that are more than just what you are most comfortable with please.
