Matthew One thing with JOSM is that you have to make sure you have _selected_ the node, segment or way before adding an attribute.  If you haven't selected anything it still lets you add an attribute.  The only clue you get is that the dialog box says "This will change 0 objects" which is a bit subtle and easily missed.

Hi, I've only been using JOSM for a few days, so I might be doing something wrong here, but I don't think so. I create segments and ways, and then on some nodes put tags. Something somewhere keeps losing the tags on the nodes, though.

For example, I put "highway=mini_roundabout" on 10122110 and 10113862, and it disappeared. I also put "amenity=place_of_worship" and "name=Gorse Covert Free Church" on 10015006, and that disappeared.
