GPS TrackMaker is a great program for working with tracks, it spits out GPX
and the pay version (approx. $100 US) claims to write CAD and Shapefiles and
also loads imagery. Maybe the author could be persuaded to write an OSG
extension, he has one for Google Earth that overlays a KML file. It also can be
used for live collection and navigation. There is a free version that is
usefull, its the tool I use for file conversion and visualiszation of tracks.
The recent discussion about GIS formats and not being able to dump info to
shapefile could be solved using this app.
