I like the fact that this proposal is simple enough to be understood by the man in the street (sorry about that pun). Sometimes streets do not have an identifiable name, especially some of those funny connecting roads at complex junctions.  How can this be handled?  Make up our own name?  name:osm="Baker Street to eastbound Westway link" perhaps.
