>Not quite true - David was correct that the contours aren't available
>world-wide, even if the tiles are. There's fantastically large numbers
>of contours for the Andes and in the Himalaya which at the moment
>would provide more slowing-down of the server than benefits to
>cyclists :-)

>If anyone want contours adding for a region though - just ask. And I
>might try full-world contours at some point to see how slow it gets
>with several gigs in postgis!

Any chance I could have Peru rendered with contours please?

I've been spending quite a bit of time adding lakes in the Peruvian Andes using Yahoo aerial imagery. However I am aware that the resolution of these images doesn't allow for a high degree of accuracy here. It would be fantastic if I could have contours rendered as an alternative to the yahoo imagery, from which I could improve the accuracy of the lake perimeters. I was looking
into rendering this myself, but the project never really got off the ground.

Cheers,
Donald

_______________________________________________
talk mailing list
talk@openstreetmap.org
http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk
