<div><br></div>I think there is a setting in JOSM where you specify how often (number of days) it checks for a new version. So after X days it gives a pop up (when you run JOSM) if there is a new version. Or is that just for plugins? Probably just for plugins actually, as there is technically a new version of every JOSM every night, though it could contain really untested stuff.<div>
<br></div><div>When you launch JOSM and don't open any files, the background is a Message of the Day and can give the latest news (such as important updates).</div><div><br></div><div>I don't have JOSM to hand right now.<br>
