<div>Because there are no simple tools for reverting changesets and your regular osm user (like me) may not be comfortable performing such an operation for fear of messing things up even more, there is a need for a simpler mechanism to report errors and dubious changests that can be reviewed by someone else and reverted. With more novice users coming in and the simplicity of potlatch 2, i have started seeing more map graffiti and mass deletions in India and can only expect things to get worse. Because there are not enough active users to monitor the data for such a large area, most of these changesets go unnoticed for months leading to more complications.<br clear="all">
</div><div><br></div><div>Has there been a discussion on how this problem can be addressed and what the solution is?</div><div><br></div><div>This is what i currently do when i notice that data has suddenly gone missing:</div>
<div>1) Open the are in potlatch 1</div><div>2) Show the deleted ways 'U'</div><div>3) Show history of the deleted way 'H'</div><div>4) Click more to open details page of the way</div><div>5) Click the changeset link to examine the edits</div>
<div>6) Open my email</div><div>7) Send a mail to frederik with the subject 'revert request'</div><div>8) Paste the link of the changeset and kindly ask him to revert</div><div>9) say thanks in advance</div><div>
