Well I have not seen an official announcement on this maybe i missed it.<div><br></div><div>NGI aerial imagery is available as a backdrop on OSM, not sure about vector data though.</div><div><br></div><div>Kudos to all involved.<br>

</div>Yes, some of us from the South African community have been involved.<br>
The announcement from <a href="http://afrispatial.co.za" target="_blank">afrispatial.co.za</a> is badly timed and wasn't<br>
expected, we have our own announcement lined up.  A formal agreement<br>
is in the final stages.<br>

We haven't yet fully considered exactly what bits of the data we'll<br>
use. We'll consider when ripe. A blanket import is out of the<br>
question.<br>
