<div dir="ltr">Dear OSM Community,<div><br></div><div>Advance apologies for cross-posting.</div><div><br></div><div>Could any one point out an OSM data model that has been used for sports activities, or any past, present, or future-planned project that has/will make use of sports, for example: football/soccer or swimming to be specific?</div><div><br></div><div>The existing <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/List_of_OSM-based_services#Biking.2C_geocaching.2C_hiking.2C_sport" target="_blank">list of OSM based services</a> only mentions hiking, geocaching and biking. Other information on <a href="https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/soccer" target="_blank">taginfo</a> is very scanty. Although - <b><i>OSM Stories</i> </b>seems not updated of recent, there are no sports-related <a href="http://osmstories.org/" target="_blank">case studies.</a></div><div><br></div><div>The <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Map_Features#Sport" target="_blank">OSM Wiki</a> as well has information on <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:sport" target="_blank">sports and related tags</a>, which has been used to update the <b><a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Mapset18#Research_on_a_similar_initiative_like_Mapset" target="_blank">Data and Mapping</a> - </b>section of MapSet - Wiki Page still a work in progress.</div><div><br></div><div>Most organisations consider sport as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity, other individuals do sport for leisure, whereas talented individuals do sports as a career.</div><div><br></div><div>In the humanitarian world, sports can fall in the category of <a href="https://jsfd.org/sport-and-livelihoods/" target="_blank">livelihood</a> with various <a href="https://jsfd.org/sport-and-education/" target="_blank">themes</a> but there could be other numerous ways of applying sports in different fields.</div><div><br></div><div>MapSet would like to engage<i> volunteer passionate mappers</i> from existing <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_Uganda#Mappers_and_Groups" target="_blank">mapping groups</a> and communities in Uganda and else where to create a new initiative/focus on sports.</div><div><br></div><div>
