<p>The discussion on
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/83025584">https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/83025584</a> suggests that:</p>
<ul>
<li>The people adding the data do have an activity
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Unite_Maps_Initiative">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Unite_Maps_Initiative</a> listed
at
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities</a></li>
<li>There are comments saying "it's not an import, it's mapping
from imagery"</li>
<li>The imagery is allegedly OK from a licence standpoint (based
on one mapper's changeset comments)</li>
</ul>
<p>If all the above is correct then it becomes an issue of "poor
quality organised mapping" rather than "undiscussed import". In a
situation like that it would make sense to continue commenting on
changesets wherever what was mapped does not match reality. I'd
also ask how something like that got through
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Unite_Maps_Initiative#Validation_process">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Unite_Maps_Initiative#Validation_process</a>
.</p>
<p>It would also be great to try and get the local community (or as
local a community as there is to a fairly remote bit of the DRC)
involved so that they are at least aware of the issues.</p>
<p>Best Regards,</p>
