Hello / Kumusta :)

Thank you, Marcos (Mar Mar) for opening up this topic. I agree with proactive welcoming, as I've experienced it first hand. And that's what I do especially with new recruits as well: consistent follow ups and invites to events, and answering their curious questions!

Meet your Mapper is a great tool as well! I would like to suggest mainstream, double check active channels and update the OSM community index so new mappers can look and search if there's an existing OSM mapping community in their area, and hopefully reach out to them for possible tutorship.

Tilman, thanks for this great tool! no. for exexmple review_request in France from mapper with <10 days
of mapping without any reply yet.
exept the title, nothing suspicious :)

as you can see, review_request for France is already enough to have a
higher demand than what the community provides. as long as the community
is not able to help new contributors who want a review, I am afraid that
offering them something that the community is not able to provide is
even more likely.
when answering old changeset, detected because of a validation problem,
I already have 2x an answer asking why the review_request was proposed
if nobody answers? that's why I'm dubious about proposing an tutorship,
unless there is first a team available and a way to stop the proposal
as soon as the available time is likely to be exhausted

Of course I would like to be wrong and it is of course variable
according to the communities.

Regards,
Marc
