My life rule in OSM is reading kills a mapper, so dont read and go out to survey. But if you start reading it all, your not doiing anything else and you cant be a surveying mapper.</div>

The survey makes Open Street Map just a better map than everything else build on arials.</div>

In case you haven't seen, there's a new OSM(F) hosted web forum using the modern Discourse software. It's integrated with your existing OSM account (ish). You can use (most of it?) via email, so you can still communicate with OSMers via email.<br>

You need to turn on mailing list mode in the settings.<br>

Feel free to try it. If it's nice enough, maybe we could convert this mailing list to use that software, rather than the current Mailman software. ? Imagine that, software updates! ?<br>

? AIUI one cannot create new threads via email yet. First the admins need to decide which forums there will be, then you can turn on create via email.<br>
