These bundle a Java JRE (Java 17, IIRC), so you don’t necessarily need to update the system version of Java (I’d still recommend it). JOSM recommends Java distributions that include JavaFX as some plugins require it (specifically, Microsoft StreetSide). Azul has a Java distribution that includes JavaFX ( <a href="https://www.azul.com/downloads/?version=java-17-lts&package=jre-fx" class="">https://www.azul.com/downloads/?version=java-17-lts&package=jre-fx</a> ). If you don’t intend to use or are not using Microsoft StreetSide, then the Adoptium project will be fine.<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">If you want to use the josm.jnlp file, we recommend using OpenWebStart ( <a href="https://openwebstart.com/" class="">https://openwebstart.com/</a> ).</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">We might want to see how easy it would be to create and link to a page with instructions on how to update Java. Lately JOSM contains a message that it will no longer support the version of Java I'm using (version 8), and that I should update to version 11. Yet when I go to the Java website (<a href="http://java.com" class="">java.com</a>), the highest version it offers for download is 8. How do I update to version 11?
