<p>Does lua exist for cygwin? I.e. is it simply a failure of the configure scripts to detect it?</p>

<p>As lua isn't strictly necessary at the moment, it should probably be hidden behind a set of #ifdef HAVE_LUA pre-processor directives and not make it a fatal configure error if there isn't a lua interpreter.</p>
