Actually its the sea that is rendered in a different colour to the rivers
;)  But I already just changed it so that rivers are now the same as the
sea.

Hmmm.. IMHO railways are much more important than roads ;)  The correct
thing to do is to set the layer tag and the bridge/tunnel tag to indicate
what goes over or under what.
