Dear all,

a quick note to inform about the conclusion of the participatory
accessibility mapping process based on OSM data. The project was presented
at SOTM 2010, you can find the presentation here (
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/SotM_2010_session:_Libero_Accesso%E2%80%A6_%E2%80%93_mapping_the_accessibility)

A paper map was issued and a collaborative web map is published. I posted
some information on the wiki @
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Libero_Accesso...Accesso_Libera_Tutti!#Project_Description

One of the main criticisms we got after SOTM presentation was about mapping
accessibility without cosidering OSM tag scheme and guidelines. This is not
solved and the results are not yet converted into OSM elements with OSM
accessibility tags. I am intending to do as soon as I have some time to
invest in this for the information that might be converted.

Another limitation is the language, only part of the results are available
in English.

Apart from these known limitations I think the process is a successful story
for OSM because of the main role it played in an istitutional project
sponsored by istitutional bodies and private bank.

Any comment/suggestion/criticism welcome.

Cheers
