There are no requirements as such. Since I myself am blind and am using
this regularly, requirements are dictated by what I find myself needing.

The development site, including all source code and somewhat out-of-date
documentation for the web service, can be found here:

http://hermesgps.info

The instance I'm using daily can be found here:

http://thewordnerd.homeip.net

Please note that this is on my desktop, and may be bounced at any time
as I implement new features. It's the instance I use daily and point
others to for playing when it's up. Unless you're in TX, you won't
automatically be located on a map. So you may want to use this deep link
to downtown Austin:

It's currently a web app exporting a JSON-based web service. I'm
developing an Android app that uses the service, which is currently far
enough along for regular use. I also just started on a stand-alone HTML
5 app which I'm hoping will run on IOS, but we'll see.

I think someone set that up a while ago. I should probably get around to
doing that at some point.

Oh good, because today I realized that we also have audible traffic
signals without buttons, and I've wasted valuable time on a corner
looking for a button that didn't exist. :) So that's yet another
permutation to consider. I should look at the new schema.

Of Hermes? It's a web app, so either you'd need to install a server or
I'd have to load the maps into mine. I've decided not to load any more
maps because I receive lots of "can you load maps for X?" requests, and
this is just my desktop on a home internet connection, so I can't really
load maps for everyone. Apologies.
