Dear all,
I'm an accessibility and usability consultant at AbilityNet, a UK tech charity, and I also volunteer separately for the Missing Maps project/Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. I've been on this list for a while and wondered if there would be any interest in a virtual meetup for people working at the intersection of accessibility and GIS?
We (AbilityNet) have our annual accessibility and inclusive design conference coming up in November, TechSharePro<https://abilitynet.org.uk/techsharepro-2021>, and there would be the opportunity to host something like a networking session at this if this is of interest. (We would not let the ticket price be a barrier to anyone wishing to attend.) I haven't come across much in the way of events for people working at the intersection of accessibility and maps, but do fill me in if I have missed them.
Do let me know your thoughts or suggestions. We would also be looking for a co-host for this session if anyone would like to volunteer.
Best wishes,
Jessica Cahill
