[Design] Rendering tracktype and surface

I'm not quite sure this is the right place to post this, especially
given the low-volume of the list, but I'll try anyway.
I've noticed that the default web viewer on www.openstreetmap.org
renders tracks differently depending on the "tracktype". This I would
expect.
However, it does not change the rendering of tracks depending on the
"surface" value, even though the Potlatch2 editor only gives the option
to define "surface" not "tracktype" (tracktype has to be entered through
advanced properties).
This isn't such a problem for me now that I know, but I spend a lot of
time working it out, and I initially only tagged all my tracks with
their "surface" not "tracktype", because that was all that was available
in the editor. I doubt that I am the only one doing this, so could:
1. Either the default web viewer be changed to also render based on
"surface".
2. Or, Potlatch2 have "tracktype" added to it.
Is there a better place to ask this question?
Thanks,
Andy
