[Openstreetmap-dev] When do svn changes show up on the web?

A few days ago, I tried to add a link to the database statistics page
on the menu bar to the left on openstreetmap.  I committed the change
to svn, and hoped it would make it to the web page eventually.
Nothing has showed up yet.  Do I need to manually poke the powers at
work to get the change pushed to the web page, or did I commit to the
wrong file?

Is there a mailing lists where all the svn commits are announced?  It
would be nice to have, to be able to stay updated with the latest code
changes.
