[Openstreetmap-dev] osm-editor for Windows imminent

Hello everyone,

After going round and round in circles for about four hours on Saturday
night, I've finally managed to compile a fully-featured osm-editor for
Windows. The thing that caused me most trouble - trying to get the
application to talk to the serial port using GPSBabel-Jeeps, mysteriously
disappeared if I compiled the jeeps library separately and linked it in at
the end. (Before, the source files of Jeeps were compiled alongside the
source of osm-editor, but the auto-generated (by qmake) makefile set lots
of obscure directives and options, so that must have done something
strange).

Anyway, one last thing to do before I make it available - statically link
in the Qt libraries (rather than dynamic as at the moment) so I don't have
to distribute a load of heavyweight DLLs with the application. Will post a
message to the main list when this happens.

Nick
