What about:
sed "s/ lon=/ lon='/g; s/ timestamp='/' timestamp='/g" <planet-2006-08.osm 
>planet-2006-08-a.osm

to correct this little bug?

And lets keep up the tradition: Only the -a Versions are the good ones ;-)
