The only issue I can see in IE6 is that transparency doesn't work in
PNGs, so the contours obscure everything else.  Since you don't use
antialiasing, you *could* painlessly switch to GIF (if politics allow)
if you want to enable IE.

Same here, very strange.  Would need to look at what OpenLayers is
doing under the hood there I think.
