I know nothing about the implementation. But the URLs have always
contained very long decimals (I think Christopher suggested they
be shortened) and still the behaviour has changed lately. Back in
this winter and spring, I could right-click on a single badly
rendered tile, view image, shift-reload it, and when I clicked the
browser's "back" button the new and correctly rendered tile would
be there. That trick doesn't work anymore.
Also new is the behaviour that when I click the view tab (to get
the permanent URL of the current view), some tiles appear as if
they weren't already loaded. I guess this could be explained if
the JavaScript code has changed its mind on the tile's exact URL
while I was panning around.
The current behaviour, in these two ways, is somewhat worse than
it used to be. However, I think these errors were introduced
somewhat earlier (some weeks ago) than the new
yellow/green/antialiased rendering of roads.
