[OSM-dev] REST api failing

Is anyone else finding that calls to the REST api are failing randomly?

A request like this:
curl -u username:password
www.openstreetmap.org/api/0.3/map?bbox=-0.4799782928023634,51.35120845681465,-0.44267453204887597,51.37308696938097

does not return any response most of the time.  It is not a transient
problem with the server - it has been failing for several weeks now.

Anyone got any ideas what might be wrong.
