Me or Oliver? I'm just doing segments ATM. However what I plan to do on the
nick.dev renderer (for the moment - see below) is to tag all the segments
making up a way with the way tags as a stopgap measure.

I think Nick Hill and Steve are looking into this at some stage. SQL
optimisation isn't my strongest point so, due to working on several other
parts of OSM, I'll leave it up to others..... :-)
