[OSM-dev] Request for comments: waypoint upload tool

Just wanted to ask peoples' opinions on this, before I finish the code and 
publish it:

It will allow people to upload a waypoints file, then edit the information in 
it (e.g. set "waypoint 232" to be a pub named The George), and press a button 
to upload the waypoints to OSM as nodes.

You can try the interface now to play with uploading and editing some 
waypoints, but it won't send anything to OSM yet.

Some considerations:
 * Will ask for OSM username and password, so stuff gets tagged with the 
uploader's ID.  
 * Will tag the uploaded nodes with "created_by=almien_upload" and 
"uploader=[username]"
 * We might end-up with multiple copies of the same information, if several 
people have waypointed something and each use this tool
 * Can install this on an OSM domain later if necessary, so people don't have 
to trust my website with their passwords.

Any comments on whether this would cause huge breakage to OSM infrastructure, 
or is it worth doing?
