Hey Nick - excellent work!

It looks like you've got pink ghosts around some of the text and lines though.

This page - http://www.simplesystems.org/RMagick/doc/imusage.html#color_names
- suggests you can use 'transparent' as a background colour which I
imagine will work much better if you're rendering PNGs.  You'll
probably be able to nix the call to canvas.transparent too.

I've given the same tip to Steve about the GPX images in /traces (they
also have pink ghosts), but I've not made a change in svn because I
can't test it easily and I don't know if we'd want to fix all the old
images too.
