Sorry for replying to myself, I am basically thinking as I go along. It
would probably be enough to set up apache as a reverse proxy with a disk
cache of some GB and some hours cache time. That would allow to take off
some of the heat of dev without needing to change anything on it. I'll
experiment with apache and see if I can come up with something that works.
